I have a 6.5 Grendel I’ve used for coyotes / deer hunting. Shot very little of both. Did ok. I have prolly 8 boxes of ammo sitting in a cabinet. I don’t shoot this a lot. I do shoot a lot of 223 for wood chucks. I came across 22 ARC having come out of the cave I’ve been living in
. Holy smokes. Comparing drops with my 223 and 22 Arc has me thinking of pulling the Grendel barrel and selling the ammo. This is my second Grendel rifle. I’m not in love or feel hatred. I just hate having something collecting dust. I’ve watched the Social Regressive YouTube video and the Outdoor life moose hunt - which got me on this path after hearing Tyler on the MeatEater podcast. A couple of questions:
- Ballistic Advantage and Shaw are on sale on Midway. I read hit and miss on both more older misses on quality with BA but never reviews seem to like them. What’s the consensus on BA and Shaw.
- I had a Odin barrel in my first Grendel and wasn’t overly impressed.
- I don’t see much on CMMG and Faxon. Any expierences?
Any don’t do this advance from your builds of this caliber?
Looking to have a fun plinker, crop damage permit doe eater, wood chucks exploderer..
