6.5 creedmoor twist rate?

One of your members on here thought I should post his question on here to get other members feedback. I am purchasing a new DPMS AR-10 chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor. They are built with two different twist rates. One is 1:7.5 and the other is 1:8.5 with 24 inch stainless 6 groove barrels. i plan on using the gun for hunting and would like to shoot 140-142 grain bullets. I already have some Berger vld's on hand. Which twist would you choose and why? Thanks, David

I did some research and thought I would post my findings in case anybody else might be looking for this information. Using the Greenhill Formula I came up with the twist rate for the Berger VLD's I plan on using in the gun. Using a 140 grain VLD, the formula came up with 1:7.55 twist, and for the 130 grain VLD, it was 1:7.78. Based on this information, I will be using the 1:7.5 twist. David

I have four 8.5 twist DPMS sticks that all shoot 140 Hunting VLDs very well. Two of them are 6.5 CMs, and the other two are 260s.
