6.5 Creedmoor shooting 147 ELD-M's in Peterson brass with R-26

Start with 46 grains in either one. 46 grains gets me 2745 or so, with the 147 ELDM in my cm. 47 grains in my .260, gets me 2825 with the 147. Every rifle is different, but this should be a good starting point for you. You may be able to push them a bit more, but I saw no reason to.

6.5 CM is not a fast cartridge so I'm not sure why some people are so concerned with speed....Trying to run 30" barrels and pushing brass to its breaking point makes no sense at all :confused:The round is designed for accuracy, not speed. You want speed, build the rifle on a bigger 6.5mm cartridge.

Anyone have results from a shorter barrel? I'm looking to order a 22" proof for a hunting gun and using 143 eld-x.

I'm getting 2865 fps with the HDY 143s with 48gr of RL26, Lapua brass and CCI450 primers in my 6.5 Creedmoor.

The barrel is 24" 1/8 twist Tikka.

I tried 47, 47.5 and 48grs of RL26 in my Creedmoor with Lapua and CCI450s and 139s. I got ejector marks with all three loads....... I tried the same loads with Hornady brass today and did NOT get the ejector marks on my brass. Accuracy sucked.....

I'm gonna take a shot in the dark.
Lapua brass probably dose not have the same case capacity as the hormady. Basing this on the fact that lapua is thicker walled.
Also want to add, after i read in this thread that mag primers gave better results. I tried
Win LRP, & CCI 250's,W/47 gr. Rl26 groups went to hell!!
I shot my load of 47 gr. RL26 W/ CCI200, topped W/143eldx, 5 under a dime @100,holds 1" group at 200yds.
Shot all three loads at same time,I came to conclusion hotter primer is not the ticket.
Also noticed groups opened up above 47 gr.
Just sharing what I've learned here

I tried both types of primers and saw very little difference in velocity and accuracy, but the sd did stretch out a bit with the mag primers. I will stay with standard for the most part.

Guys, i believe i may have screwed up. I just discovered that my OAL was off on the loads I shot the other day. I didn't change nor did I check my OAL when I loaded to test the RL26. Instead of being set at 3.185 with my compairator I was actually 3.225 which put me .025 into the lands. So I am sure this would cause the pressure problem I was experiencing. When I retest I will update you on the results.....

I had a chance to reshoot the RL26 load but only at 300yds. Both loads showed no signs of pressure with 47.5 and 48grs of RL26. So evidently using the "Correct" seating depth does help. The 47.5 showed promise with a 1.5" five shot group @ 300 the 48gr load really opened up....
