Most people? You have taken a poll? LolIf you have piles of LRP run those but most people use SRP with BR4 primers.

Let me clarify….. Most of the people i shoot with via prs guys / long range “ hobbyist” tend to use them as they work well and are much easier to come by in this day and age. Most people? You have taken a poll? Lol

That surprises me on the br-4’s for the Creedmoor, I didn’t think they would spend the extra $ for them.Let me clarify….. Most of the people i shoot with via prs guys / long range “ hobbyist” tend to use them as they work well and are much easier to come by in this day and age.
They are me. LolThat surprises me on the br-4’s for the Creedmoor, I didn’t think they would spend the extra $ for them.
If I had a pile of LRP I’d run them…. Just hard to come by is all.Understood. Most of the guys I shoot with in PRS and local shooters use LRP myself included.
Did you measure the internal volume of the cases and compared them?I have done side by side tests over a chronograph with small and large rifle primes in cases of the same make and powder and bullet weights and found the srp had higher velocities than lrp did
This is a slippery slope. LolDid you measure the internal volume of the cases and compared them?
Like our member Laurie said was that there are so many variables you could get different results with different combinations of powder, primers and brass, barrels, conditions to name a few. What ever works for you amigo.I have done side by side tests over a chronograph with small and large rifle primes in cases of the same make and powder and bullet weights and found the srp had higher velocities than lrp did
This is a slippery slope. Lol
I'd be Curious to see, the Results between, SRP and LRP with, the EXACT, SAME, Rifle Bbl, Bullet used, Cases & BEST Load, "Work Up", etc. THEN Doing,,.. 10 Shot Group's at,. 200 or, 300 Yds.
I'd bet, the Group Difference is,.. just, a tiny, TINY,.. Bit, smaller with, the SRP's
did no mess around with thatDid you measure the internal volume of the cases and compared them?
did no mess around with that
just an old fashioned test with readily available components that anyone can buy and with no other tools than the cases mentioned
a side by side comparison with a chronograph that is it
dig in to the details if you want that is the way I did it
did not check the barometric pressure, earth rotation, or the position of the sun
Why? Because you came to a conclusion that the SRP gave you more velocity with everything the same than the LRP but unless you know if the internal capacity is the same in the SRP brass and LRP brass that whole test and conclusion are not factual that it’s the primer. Could be the brass.
