6.5 Creedmoor, just getting started!

Just purchased rifle, have shot it 40 times now, am confident its gonna shoot. Remington tactical, 24 inch barrel. Initial groups with factory ammo promising.
Just purchased a box of 129 Hornady SST, and a box of Nosler, 120 ballistic tips.
Just looking for a few loads, that y'all have tried and true.
I have H4350 avail, Varget, 17, 19. Most all primers, mag, and standard.
Also, is 8208, a viable powder for this round?

Varget's good for 120 gr class bullets
H4350 for 140 gr+ bullets
8208 is too fast for anything in the Creedmoor.
A combination you can't go wrong with is between 40-43gr h4350 with berger 140gr hybrid.
Always work your load up.

Oh! And no need to start into the land with this bullet.. start at .020" off to .040"-.50" IN MY RIFLES give me the best results.

Varget shot real well for me under some 120 Speers. I shoot the 129 Interlock in my .260 and Re 17 is my go-to. Re 19 works well in the .260, but I have not tried it in my cm. H4350 is good for about anything.

As to 8208, Nosler load data for 6.5 Creedmoor includes data for using 8208. The Nosler data shows that 8208 was the most accurate powder in their testing using 140/142 gr projectiles. My observation is that few handloaders use the 8208 in 6.5 Creedmoor. If you have a lot of the 8208 you may want to look at Nosler data and maybe try it.

I'm thinking to refrain from the 8208.
Maybe with the 120, but the load density in the 140 load was only at 78 percent. Hmmm!
Learned something.

H4350, comes, and goes here so often, that by the time I hear of it, its gone. Now I know why.
Still open to suggestions, do' s and don'ts.
I have decided to stay with with primer brass. Really liking the feedback on the Peterson brass do far. Wish Lapua had lp brass. Thought about the small primer brass, leaving my bolt,etc. Think I'm gonna stay large primer.
Am considering Barnes bullets, come hunting season! Thoughts on those? I've used them in several other calibers, love um.

At my gun shop that I frequent, I asked about 16, he said he has it on order, asked about 26, he said he will add that to the order, and H4350, flies out the door, like water. I quess im just considering options, when what I want isn't avail. When I do get good load data, I'll get eight pounds. Enough of that rat race.
When I was loading R25, in my STW, tgst stuff was impossible to get. Same stuff with H4350.
It's a fun ride though.

Personally, I think RL-16 is a better powder than H4350. It IS more temp stable, it DOES produce more velocity and it burns every bit as clean. What's not to like? I just had a GREAT shooting .260A.I. go south is 1050 rounds! I never had that happen before. It had 7 inches of FireCracking! Lands were split, the grooves looked like Alligator hide! BUT it shot! I lay the blame at the feet of 2 culprits: 1.) I used S/R primers and HIGH pressure; AND 2.) the REAL culprit, H4350! H4350 is a fabulous powder, however, with the cartridges we run with the attendant pressures, H4350 eats up barrel steel like kids eat up Halloween candy! If you can obtain RL-16, I would really give it a run for it's money! I believe you will love it!

Gotta love a new powder, when it comes out, and it really works.
I remember when 17, and 25 came out, those two powders, set two of my rifles on fire, with speed, accuracy, low sd, es, better then what I was using at the time.
It seems to come avail in waves.

Rl-17 and 130 grain VLD Berger worked very well in my 6.5 CM . 142 SMK shot better at 1000 yds with H4350 than RL-17. More consistent groups on the steel.
