6.5 creedmoor go gauge

Ok, first i would rather use go gauges but i cant find any.

So now i ask about using brass as a go gauge, I am frustrated about not being able to find any simple go gauges and dont know what to do.. so now i am trying to find some information on using brass to do head spacing.

You can use brass but it comes with it's own problems. One the radius at the junction of the neck and shoulder on the case will not match the radius on the reamer. Cut the neck off the case. Then put two pieces of scotch tape on the head of the case to make up the difference in length between the virgin brass and a go gage. That will get you close.
Or you could make your own gage. It's not difficult to get real close. I use .500" brass but anything will work. First set your compound to match the 30 degree shoulder angle. Starting from right to left in the lathe turn down the head to .470 for .250". Then go to the location of the shoulder and turn it to .463". This is important, set your cross feed to 0.000" at that diameter. Go back to the end and face it off, set your digital readout to 0.000' or set up a travel indicator. Go 1.487", go to your zero on the cross feed and cut the shoulder angle with compound. Turn down everything in between, part off. You now have a go gage.

i was finally able to find one from mason reamers, they were great to deal with and said they would get it in the mail today yet
