6.5 creed OAL slow powders

Hi! Im building a creed and wonder if im going to gain anything by using slower powder Than RL17? Like norma MRP or vihtavouri 560. If so I would set barrel for 2.950 OAL 130-140 grains bullets touching lands at that oal. With an OAL like that i would get plenty of room for powder but Will i get moore speed than 2850 oal and rl17?

You can still only use "x" amount of powder. The only difference is how much that you crunch it during the loading process. Just because you have more room, does not necessarily give you the ability to up the velocity. If you like slow powders, they fit in the case easier, but you still will only get the velocity that your rifle/caliber allows.

The velocity also depends on what length of barrel that you are using. I get 2900 from my cm, using Re 16 and 129 Interlocks from a 24-inch barrel.

Lots of variables, with no definite answer.

Thank you. I Will go with a 22 tube so i dont think im gaining anything by extend freebore and go with slow powder anyway. But it seems like with a long barrel you could get amazing speed with slow powder if you set the bullet out

Unlikely that any powder will yield more speed in the Creedmoor than R17. Although I have read some people gaining more velocity with R26.
