6.5 bullet(s) for 1 mile

I was shooting at match this weekend, (not with the GWI)
I was spotting for the guy next to me and watched a few of his bullets turn to dust.
I think he was shooting a 6.5 Creedmoor.
I should have asked what bullet he was shooting.

Never an issue with either over thousands of rounds of ELDs.
Neither did I till I had to get more bullets and new lots started creating dust clouds.

I blew up some Berger 300’s earlier this year but almost 3K in a 7.5 twist is not realistic for big cup/core bullets, made an impressive cloud though!
Lol

I've never had any issues with the 180 eldms from a 7-300 Win. Then again only pushing them 3000-3100fps from a 9 twist.

How do the smaller cartridges do at a mile going through the transsonic phase? I always thought accuracy went to crap? A buddy of mine just went and shot a mile with his 25 creed/134 eldms at 2850. Took 2 shots to get on target and his windage figured out, then proceeded to stack the next 4 dead center in a 10" group. I was gob smacked...

People blow the transonic thing out of proportion, I have seen things get wonky (168SMK sometimes gets interesting) but usually it’s just a wind and elevation correction at most that’s repeatable.

Many bullets like the 190LRHT sail through nothing happened at all.

Yup most of today’s modern match style bullets were designed to not have issues like the 168 SMK mentioned. The 168 SMK is the example of a bad transonic design. I have shot a lot of bullets in .22, 6mm, 6.5mm, 7mm and .30 into and past transonic with no issues at all. I don’t even worry about it.

Those 168smk can put on a pretty hilarious show at distance.
I’ve seen em do ok in some barrels but others it’s a Benny hill show! Lol.
