6.5 BR just built looking for loads

have 29 inch 1x8.5 twist barrel and looking for suggestions on loads. i wanted to complete a set, 22BR, 6BR, 6.5 BR, and 30 BR the rest shoot great and i expect 6.5 to do the same any loads appreciated.

Do you have a bullet and distance you want to load for in mind? Might help to get that info so others can chime in with what works for them. BTW, have fun with newby!

Dave suggested 107 grain or less. The range I shoot most is 600 that is what we have. I have a6.5x284 that uses heavier. But I am open to try suggested loads.

A 6.5 BR with 107 Sierras... Sounds kind of intriguing. I would say you have plenty of twist for most any bullet. One would guess similar capacity to the Grendel.

Look on Hodgon's loading data site...IMR 8082 BRX looks like a winner.

that is what I thought but I am an old timer and you all use these new calibers and rounds, so i went to those I respect as having more experience with a load. I built my first rifle in 1956, shot loads like 219 donaldson wasp, 22-250 was a wildcat as was my 25-06.

I have a new reamer just for that bullet, and a new Kreiger 8.5 twist barrel waiting for me to find some time to do the work. i really like the idea of it and am looking forward to some great shooting with it...right now finding powder is a real problem. I think the 107's can get to that 3000 fps. mark with no excessive pressures with 8082 BRX. only time will tell...love the 30BR, but am very low on my powder for that one too.

Had to go look at my jug of 8208 That is what it is LOL.
Any how, in a 6.5 BRX the 107's and a stout load of 8208 shoots
1/4 moa vertical at 500 M.

You're missing the 7mm BR

Be careful with the 8208XBR. The first lot was considerably faster than subsequent lots. I have a later lot. Shoots GREAT in my 6BR with mid-weight bullets.
