A little background first. I have 38 years bench experience as a gusmith, and have built over 100 rifles. Mostly Mausers and Savages with a few 1903;s, Remingto 700's, and Win 70's. I am a die hard 6.5x55 fan, and this has been my primary hunting rifle for 35 years, deer, yotes an grounhogs, crows. I have been slowly battling back from a long run of illness, 2 bad hip replacements, 2 more to fix the issues with different surgeon, and 3 strokes in one day between number 2 and 3 surgery, caused by the infection. Then over 4 years of surgeries wore out my left hip, had it replaced. The strokes left me with my right side 50% paralyzed, comes and goes, some days I can work in my shop and do anything, some days I cant stick my finger in my nose. I am blessed to remember everything I knew before the stroke, just suffer short term memory loss, and stroke like symptoms when get stresse, tired, etc.. It has been a battle to get back into shooting and gunsmithing, which I only do for myself and to help some friends out. I tell you all of this, to explain how happy I am to get back to this level of shooting again, something the docs told me was over, and that I would be lucky to talk, walk and form a coherent sentec again. I had built these rifles all a few years ago, except the 6.5 CM which I just put together.

Here are the rifles specs. All of these have the actions trued up, surface ground recoil lugs, 1/4", steel bedded in custom stocks for the most part..
1 Savage Long action, 6.5x55 Match 1-8 twist Krieger, 26" varmint weight. STock is a Laminate version similar to a boyds Tacticool, bought off someone online. pillars and steel bedded. Trigger went thru by me, breaks at 20 oz. Scope is a Sightron S3, 10x50x60mm, 1/8 dot.
2. Savage short action SS 16, Benchmark 30" 6.5x284, 1-8 twist, bull barrel with .150 taper, B&C type stock with alum chassis/bedded. Sharp shooter trigger set at 10 ounces. scope is sightron S3 10x50x60mm, fine ch.

These guns were all rezored, with ammo I loaded to tried and true load data, here is the groups size of each rifle as numbered above.

1. Hornady BTHP, 140 gr, HBN coated, 10 shots center to center, about .600 horizontal/
2. !42 Gr Sierras, danzac coated, H4381, 3000fps, 10 shots .570, vertical.
3. 140 BTHP match, H4350 2700fps, 1/2" breaking in barrel.
4. 69 Sierra bthp, varget, 2950fps, .338 vertical

Just thought I would share, I have pics of the rifles and groups if someone wants to see them or post them. Just so dang happy to be able to shoot well again

Post pics! Just put together a 6.5x55 too for prone matches. Testing tomorrow, 140 Berger Hybrids w/ 48-48.8gn H4831sc jumped .030"

48.2gn jumped .030" at 2860fps held around 2" vertical at 600yds so far but some horizontal spread, probably wind, wasn't watching for it too much.
