6.5-47L on SA

Anyone here shooting the 6.5-47L with the 130- 140 class bullets in a short action Rem? I love the 6-47 L in the short because with the 105/108 class bullets I have room to spare in the Mag.

I ran a Stiller tac30 Aw in a short action no problems whatsoever.. I am supposed to receive my sons 6.5x47 from Adams Custom Guns this week that I had a rem. style recoil lug added to it and pillar bedded in a manners t5 with CDI bottom metal.I went with a .150 fb and 294-5 no neck turn reamer. I really like this caliber.

I would have the bolt bushed for the small firing pin if primer cratering is a concern.

Awesome....I was thinking about another tube for my SA 700. I have a 12 twist Dasher and an 8 twist 6-47L for it already.

Not a 6.5 Lapua, but I have a Model 7 in a 6.5 Creedmoor and have no problems with the 140's and they are mag fed. So a 6.5 Lapua in a standard length short action should have no problem.

With the correct reamer, no problem.

Mine's a no turn .2945" neck with .123" freebore, perfect for 130 VLD's at a 2.740" OAL .020" in the lands.

I run one in a XP-100 rear grip and never had a problem...

No problem, in fact the SA is ideal for that caliber.

I have a 6.5x47 with a Stolle Atlas tactical short action. I'm using HS Precision's DBM and if I recall, it's shorter than some of the others. It has a max coal of 2.838". My barrel was chambered with a .167 freebore and I can hit the lands with a Berger 140 VLD hunting bullet and still have room to fit them in the magazine. If you use the 140 hybrids, you will have even more room.
