6.5-47 lapua ackley?

Any body got one? And how does it shoot? Any velocity gains? I hate brass neck growth!

There's not much you can "Ackleyize" in the 6.5X47... It already got minimal body taper and a 30° shoulder. Maybe you can reduce neck length or "Gibbsize" it, along with a 45° shoulder but I'd just leave it alone, because it is a terrific cartridge just as is.

Trust me on this. There is not much of an improvement by changing the shoulder angle. You may gain 1 grain of powder? Hardly worth the expense of custom dies/ and or reamer.

Not to worried about the velocity gain I prefer the 40 becouse next to zero brass growth when full resizing.

Have been shooting one for a month now. Your right about 1.5% increase in capacity. It will shoot 120 to 130 grain bullets. Depending on the powder up to 3100 with 120s. Very good accuracy with the 130s at 2800.
What ever you do don"t use IMR 4007 it is
very dirty.

I'm seeing almost no growth after 4 firings on the standard case -- I don't think going AI is worth it.

I owned a 6xc with the 30 degree and every time i resized it grew and I had to trim.
