6.5 /300 wsm or 270 wsm

I would like to know more about the 6.5 /300 wsm over the 270 or 7mm wsm or 7/300 wsm
what advantages are there
is the 6.5/300 over bore to much what is barrel life like

I had a new Krieger barrel chambered for 6.5 WSM 4 years ago. I've probably put about 500 rounds through it. Looking through the barrel with a bore scope the first 3 inches are starting to look pretty rough and worn.
The necks on both Winchester and Norma brass are too thick, causing bullet seating force and bullet release to be extremely inconsistent. Severe neck turning and annealing is required to cure this problem.
However the worst downside, is the fact that after you have done all of this, the cartridge velocity performance is no better than and maybe not as good as a 6.5x284

Incidentally the 6.5x284 uses allot less powder resulting longer barrel life and premium brass is available.
