Hello fellow shooters
I am putting together a straight .284 win for f-open and since Lapua stopped making .284 brass I bought a couple of boxes of 6.5-284 lapua brass. I expanded the necks to 7mm with a K&M expander die. A couple of weeks later, someone responded to a local WTB add and I was able to get a .284 box of lapua brass also. Everything measures pretty much the same except the length. The 6.5-284 is 1.858-9" and the .284 win is 1.862-3".
Would you trim all of them to the same length before the 1st firing, or wait after the 1st firing to do that?
Also do you all resize lapua brass before the first firing?
Thank you
