6-250 Spliting at the shoulder????

My son wants me to ask you guys if any of you are having trouble with the 6-250s spliting the brass right at the shoulder. It splits from the neck down to the case. Thanks guys!!!

What brand of brass are you using? How many times has it been loaded? Does it occur during firing or when you FL size?

It sounds like it may need to be annealed to soften up the neck and shoulder.

He's using Winchester brass an its my understanding that it occurs during firing. He said he's loosing about 10% of his cases everytime he goes out.

Change brass to Remington and i will bet the problems will stop they seem to be beter for forming AI cases i have had troubles making Win Cases AI where Rem seem to work verry well

Winchester cases may need to be annealed prior to expanding. Remington brass is softer, so responds better to the expanding process.
