6-06 with 13 twist barrel

I understand this is sort of a cluster but I have a heavy 6ppc barrel on a Ruger #1 action. Problem is it's a 13 twist. I want to rechamber to a 6-06. what bullet weight would you think would be the max for this cartridge with the twist rate.
and what speeds are realistic.

The head on the PPC is smaller, So the extractor, Breech Face has to be modified etc, etc etc. Too much trouble and expense if you don't do your own work.

You can rebate the 06 case heads, and have at it. Some say they can stabilize an 80 grain bullet with a 13T, but it's probably iffy.
I have shot the 80 grn Barts out of a 13.5 twist, and to my surprise, they shot pretty good. I fully expected them to keyhole.

Not endorsing the switch, but the Ruger #1 is one of the easiest to change to a different caliber.
Install a different extractor. Done. No other change needed.
Yep...break open single shot. Other than the extractor/ejector, not sure how rim diameter would be a factor here. Reasonably sure the poster knows this but wasn't thinking about it's design when he said that.

Built one for a buddy of mine with a 14t shilen. Nosler 55btip is what you need. 4300-4400fps and they'll stay together in flight.
