5mm Craig

Does anyone have any experience with the 5mm Craig? I am working with one and would like any information that I can get. Also I am in the process of converting my 581 Remington LH to 5mm craig and contacted Remington about twist rate. They said the 5mm came with a 1-16 twist however Lilja stated he would build me a barrel with a 1-12 twist. Given the velocities of the Craig would the 1-12 stabilize the bullet?

The Remington 591 and 592 came with 12" twist. Lilja will make the correct barrel. Remington apparently got confused and quoted you the twist for the 581 in 22LR.

Some years ago I spent the money required to convert my 581 to 5mm Craig. Expensive dies, brass, and limited bullets. When all was said and done it shot 2-5 inch groups at 100 yards. I sold it at a loss and decided to stick to cartridges based on more common brass,22 Squirel, 17 Ackley and 17Mach4). The 5mm Craig was fun but I wish I had spent the money on someting else.
