53 grain Hornady V max

What do you guys think about the 53 V max has anyone run it out of a 8 twist with any luck ?

Tried it with an 8" twist in a 22-250. About 2 out of 5 would make it to the target @100yds

Ok thanks I’m running maybe a little slower in 223 but not sure how hard your running them

7, 8, 9, and 12 twist. No luck just pure skill.
7 and 8 are Urbanrifleman barrels, they shoot the h e double hockey sticks out of them. 9 and 12 Savage factory barrels. Kill a lot of Prarie Dogs with them.

Out of the 1000's I've shot and the 1000's my buddies have shot, all out of .223's, no blow ups.
I have a 12 twist 22-250 I'm going to try some in.

Favorite load with AA220 in my 1-8" .223.

Something else to consider is how rough a bbl is. I had a Sav 12 in 22-250 that had train Trax down every land. It was an honest 3/8" gun, unbedded w SSS trigger. I never tried to push it but have read of instances where a ruff bbl was 'ell on jackets.
Also a button broach is way less than 100% accurate on intended tw rate....so I've read.

Been running them in my 223 rem 700 vls now for a few years, they are magic.

Unfortunately with my 12 twist I am handicapped, but up until they go transonic (550 yards), they absolutely hammer.

I bought 500 of the 53 Vmax for my Swift. I really wanted them to shoot but after a couple loads they were disappointing. My rifle shoots other varmint bullets just fine, so I didn’t waste too much time on the 53.
How close to the rifling are you guys finding that the 53 Vmax shoots best?
My rifle has a 12 twist.

I think those bullets are a lot tougher than people think.

That is for sure. Have you run any upper limit tests?
