I just picked up a 512X to give me something lighter to plink with then my 513T. On the barrel it says it accepts the .22 Short, Long and Long Rifle. I'm not familiar with the .22 Long. Anyone out there know anything about this caliber?

22 Long is/was a 22 Long Rifle case loaded with a 22 Short bullet. I believe the purpose was to get 22 Short performance without the 22 Short's propensity to put a carbon ring in the chamber that would cause 22 Long Rifle cases to stick.
