50 WSM, 50 Hushpuppy, 50 Thumper?

I`m interested in building one of these sawed off WSM`s and sticking a 50BMG bullet in it. I have a pile of 649gr API bullets. I have heard it called numerous names but basically it is a WSM case cutoff at shoulder making case length around 1.650"-1.700". I`ve read people getting around 1400-1500fps but I can`t find loading data or what barrel twist to go with. I will NOT be shooting this subsonic. This looks like a very simple wildcat to make. Standard WSM`s sizing die will work. I have a 10 and a 15 twist barrel but not sure which to use. Any help would be appreciated.

Have a look into the B&M cartridge line. They have a 50 on the WSM.

You may get along with that 15 twist barrel, but I'd sure recommend your 10 twist.

The case is capable of supersonic, but nothing like the 50 BMG.

I run an 8 twist on my subsonic 50.

I'd figure out your case capacity and see how close you are to 50 Alaskan.

The .510 whisper looks fun. It's based on a shortened 338 lapua mag case. It's going to be my next build.
