50 BMG Primer "arming" and seating depth

I was wondering if any members could enlighten me regarding the concept of "arming" 50 BMG primers and how deep to seat these primers. I have seen recommendations of 0.005 to 0.008 below the case head face all the way up to 0.018 below flush. Any help would be appreciated.

I believe the primer manufacturers have only one recommendation.
