5-round AR Magazines

Yep, whack off the bottom with a hacksaw, a couple tiny screws or pins through a plastic, wood, or aluminum plate shaped to fit the bottom, snip off the spring, assemble and you will be in business. More or less! might take two tries!!
This works.

I've cut down ar10 and ar15 Magpul mags this way.

Remington also made a 7615 carbine that used AR mags
Yes, but again it has a mag well that requires longer mags. I'm wanting a shorter 5-round version of the AR magazine that protrudes as little as possible from the bottom of my American, All 5-round versions I find so far are only 10-round mags blocked to 5. See post #5. That is what I want to avoid.

They can only be so short or they wont stick out of an AR. The shortest mags i know of are 5rd promag colt magazines. The magpuls are right behind that

Yeah, that's what I'm finding. Not an AR fan so not up to date on the mags and such. May have to do like others suggested and see if I can cut one down. Thanks for the reply.
