Why do feel the need to convince anybody? You are probably not old enough to have actually seen a gun that has a real 223 chamber. They have all been altered to make the problem that used to exist into the nonissue that you see now. You just haven't done the research to figure it out. but the truth is that it wasn't a very big issue to begin with. Read up on stacking tolerances and you my figure out why the concern. Rather that you be all up in arms about it maybe be thankful some one tried to protect you from some problem that is rare but potentially dangerous.
Where you convinced? Don't bother to answer, I really don't care.
I'm an older gentleman than you think.
I've been shooting guns, military and civilian since, well lets just say it's been for quite a long time.
However, I am relatively new to gun ownership.
I created this post to debunk the paradigm that shooting a factory 5.56 round in a rifle chambered for .223 is dangerous, even deadly.
As far as I'm concerned I debunked it, for
my rifle.
I did a ton of research before conducting this test because, well, I didn't want to get injured or killed, for one thing. Second, I didn't want to ruin a perfectly fine new rifle. After doing my research I decided to put it to the test and then I posted the results.
I'm very familiar with tolerance stacking, I'm a retired machinist.
I'm not "up in arms about it", never was and am not now. I, once again, wanted to find out if what
every book, almost
every person, just about
every YT video said
not to do was true or not!
Nuff said!
