45cal in 45-70 brass

Hi, new to reloading, bought 45cal by mistake because of the same diameter of .458, can I load them into 45-70 brass??
What exactly did you purchase?
Weight? Make?
Two things:
You’re new at reloading so double check everything in particular powders. When you’re no longer ‘new’ at reloading you’ll still double check everything.
And you’re smart enough to ask before proceeding

To the OP’s question. That small bullet size will do no good in a 45-70.
The way I read it he bought .458 dia bullets. "because of the same diameter of .458".

Its truly a poorly worded question without enough information to give him a correct and safe answer.

That’s why my 1st question was:
‘What exactly did you buy?’
It is a poorly worded question
He did ask it though and eventually the true question will appear

The top bullet is 45-70, bottom is 458

Top bullet is 45-70, bottom is 458 that I bought by mistake because it's same diameter, and the question is " can I loaded as 45-70

They will load just fine in the brass. shooting them might be a problem.

Not likely to load and feed in a lever action like Marlin or Winchester 1886 and depending on the tip of the bullet, might set the primer off due to recoil in the magazine tube.

Single shots like a Ruger #1, Winchester 1885, Handi rifle, it could work just fine.

This is why knowing the exact bullet, and intended rifle are critical to know before anyone can help you.

Hi, bought the 458 which is the bottom bullet on this pic, thinking it was 45-70 because of same diameter, I was wondering if I could load it as a 45-70

Ok, here’s the problem:
45-70 is a cartridge not a bullet
That’s why we need more info or more preferable
a pic of the box of bullets you purchased
Would also like to know rifle you’re loading for

A jacketed bullet for a 45-70 would have a thinner jacket(Usually) than one designed for a 458 Winchester. You can shoot bullets designed for a 458 winchester thru a 45-70 but expansion would be minimal, if any. They should both be 0.458" diameter bullets, but designed for different speeds, hence different jacket thicknesses

This ^^^^ is what’s needed to assist you correctly
Making the assumption that the bottom bullet is .458 is fine BUT if your rifle is a tube fed mag that looks way too pointed
