454 Casull

This topic is out of my realm of knowledge, is it possible to change a factory.45LC lever gun to a .454 Casull. It seems that it would make a fantastic deer gun. I am not aware of any factory rifle chambering in this cartridge. Just curious.

I'm not a gunsmith , But the PSI of a 454 Casull is many times that of a 45LC ,rifle would need re-engineering. Also you could purchase a 45-70 lever action rifle. Its more powerful that the 454 Casull .
Rossi R92 is chambered in 454 Casull, also Big Horn Armory Model 90A is chambered in 454 .

Why not just go straight to 460 s&w?
(Not advocating you do a 460 or 454 from a 45lc just to be clear. Bad idea)
Because I had a 10" Freedom Arms pistol that I hunted deer with for years. I sold the pistol and had well over 500 pieces of brass, so it was the logical choice to have it chambered in an Encore..

Hey lloyd i wasnt referring to your 454 i was talking about the 45lc conversion

I think Marlin 1894's are a maybe 40K psi gun(36K might be closer) and the 454 casull goes way higher than that. I have handled a Rossi 92 in 454. Wasn't too bad ,but they are few and far between. You can probably get a Rossi 92 in 45 Colt and brew up loads that will work in the gun and be fine while battering your shoulder too:)
