Would anyone know a good accurate price for my rifle. I got all the dies and 45 rounds of brass. The barrel is great. Has a leupold M8 ×3 scope, very clean rifle and shoots very good

1. It is basically a 458 Lott.
2. It is a late model commercial factory 98 Mauser CRF, which makes for a great Dangerous Game (or anything else) rifle for Africa or Alaska. Or the rest of the planet.
3. What is the scope"

A very desirable, quality rifle. A lot of them were sold in 458 WM and rechambered to this cartridge.

I would suggest rotating your pictures. It is difficult to see standing on my head!

IMHO: If someone offered me more than $2000 (depending on the scope could be several hundred dollars more) minus the scope I would take it. Plus shipping to an FFL.

Just my opinion, but I built this rifle's twin about 25 years ago; and that is what I sold it for to fund a Searcy double rifle in .470 NE to take to Zimbabwe.

Personally, I see it this way...A Mark X or commercial FN Action plus stock 500-800. What is the cost of a custom turned, chambered, and Blued Barrel? Say 50% of that cost puts you in the 1000-1100 range. Then a great, but used vintage 3x Leupold...$150

No idea what components go forsuch a rifle are worth. But in short, I see $1500 on the table. FWIW...I paid $750 on here 3.5 years ago for a 458 commercial Mauser with dies and brass. Didnt have a need or want, but that price spoke to me.

PB,

where are you shopping to get those prices? Point me to a website. A barrel, action, and finished stock for $1200, or less? I have a couple barrels that need blued, can you find somebody with a bluing set up for me? FCH a barrel for a hundred bucks? Are you doing all the work? Because, nobody in the business I know is that does it for a living.

Jim Wisner is building me a 35 Whelen on a post-War II commercial action. I am supplying the wood and action, and he's quoted me a price about two-grand. Last, your budget must be a Tasco scope; not a Leupold with rings.

Somewhere around 1250-1500 is my guess. Take a look on gunbroker. There are a couple custom built rifles using interarms receivers right in that range.

Used leupold especially older fixed power can be purchased around 200-250 if you are patient.

Funny thing about custom built rifles is that everyone wants something slightly different. They always cost more to make than they bring selling.

It's not how much they cost to build; but how much joy they bring you at the range or in the field.

But this rifle is not about how much the bits and pieces cost most of the time. It is how long it takes to acquire them VS buying the rifle you want.

Again,

Good Luck With Your Sale,

Rich

I have a collection of dangerous game rifles obtained from constant searches for my next.

For a 450 Ackley, finding properly headstamped brass is a very negative factor. I would not travel to Africa to hunt with ammo load without proper headstamps.
The offer of 45 pieces of brass is good but hardly a lifetime supply.

Built on a Mark X action, $2000 for the whole package on a good day. Me, I'd pass it up at much more than $1000, but then that's me... :)

Probably the closest example:

No tasco in the equation, Rich

Agreed. Perfect example in my 300wsm...Wening custom stock with super grade sling mounts, Douglass air guaged barel (threaded), all the custom bedding on a CRF model 70 ss action with an aftermarket trigger...and i had to throw in a $600 scope to sell it for $2000!!
The parts cost more than that, the smith was a friend and still got $500

None of the three rifles you posted to compare to this except the 450 Rigby, and it is sold.

300wsm doesn't count as a DGR to take to Africa. I've made three trips to date, and my 300 H&H Pre-64 M70 was for plains game. I took it along to shoot Dassies on my Buffalo hunt. The Cape Buffalo in Zim was taken with a 450 Rigby CZ. The Elephants were with my custom 550 Gibbs (on an original Gibbs of Bristol action) RSA plains game with a Voere Titan DST in 300 WM with my OM 70 in 458 RUM (custom) for back up. I really like big bore rifles. If I hadn't started a one mile 300 NMI on a CERUS stock & Terminus Zeus LA I would scoop this up. My lovely bride says I just cannot have all of them. And, I am pledged to fund all those pieces before Christmas! This will not last until January. Sadly...

All are sold...indicating prices they bring. It was my understanding he was looking for an idea on price. Current prices of guns unsold mean nothing. 458s were comparable in my mind as they can easily be rechambered. Viola...that same caliber.

My comparison to my 300wsm wasnt in caliber to shoot DG with. But a testament of what kind of money 1 man can sink into a rifle in parts, labor, and personal taste and end up swallowing pride when market demand isnt there.

It sounds like you may need something like this to put the hammer down on a big cape buffalo and ultimately save your life. I agree that that is a situation where money holds no value. But it also sounds like you have a few faithful rifles to serve that purpose already. The majority of guys with gun problems like to have a rifle way before these exotic hunts are a reality and flights are booked. Some never even pan out...hence why I see the value of the gun where i said. Historically backed economics leads me to belive if he wanted it sold, $1500 is a safe bet. You disagree and thats fine with me.
