45-70 Reloading

I did not have a problem at all.

It has been a couple years since i had the 45-70 craze.

I bought the latest (at the time) Hornady FL sizing set with the FTX seating stem.

Trimmed the brass to the specified length and crimped with the Redding profile crimp die designed for the FTX series.

My 24 inch barrel shoots FTX bullets at 2050fps with 47.9 grains of IMR 4198 and a CCI 200's

It is very accurate. I have yet to take game with it yet.

I have a .452 gang mold and I plan ( sometime) to load these in td or roller...however it won't be till I find quality paper to paper patch up to diameter.

Seth Cole 55Y would be a good choice I think. I use Seth Cole 55W to wrap .446 bullets. If you have any .442-.443 bullets Seth Cole #57 is your friend for sure. My neighbor and I call #55 Iron Paper.
