41 Yr Old 40XR 'LNIB'

I think you did OK.
Old 40XRs are going for around $700 to $800 with a lot of miles on them from high school teams that are quiting their shooting programs. And they don't come with all the stuff you got.
But NEVER judge a rifle by what others think of it - if YOU liked it enough to pry that money out of your hands, then just enjoy it and don't care what others think of it.
I hope you bought the Lyman scope for $250 - they go for $600 to $800 anytime.
