40X Rimfire, Making a Repeater from a single shot

I have a couple of 40X Remington Rimfires that I have resurrected from the CMP store over the years. They came with no Bolt or the feed ramp. One in particular was pretty rough, so it got chopped down to a 16" and Threaded for a can for squirrel hunting. I was thinking the other day as I was looking at a Voodoo and then a Bargera rimfire action. I wonder if i could open up the receiver in the bottom to accept the Bargera AI style magazines? And still have it actually function using those magazines?
Have any of you guys messed with such a project? Probably cheaper to just buy a Bargera. But what fun would that be?

Won't be that much fun. You will need to engineer the extractor and ejector.

I thought that was how the Vodoo started?
