There is a possibility I may acquire a .22RF 40x project in trade for work I did for a friend. Don used this very rifle, among others, to teach his son to shoot.
Don can trace the rifle back to the original owner/purchaser when it was new in the 50s or 60s, as that is who he bought it from. That original owner competed with it at Camp Perry for many years, so it's pretty cool to be able to have proven history of at least one old rifle.
When it would no longer shoot into 1/2" at 100yds(!), it was worked on and rebarreled by a gun wrench/barrel maker in Indiana named Jack Childress.
Has anyone heard of him? Thanks.
