40X actions

In theory a 'tactical' gun might see rough use and even rapid fire!

Thus the 40X's brazed on bolt handle and lack of CRF would make it less desirable.

I think most PDs and most military use Remingtons. I don't know of any that use the Winchesters or Savage 99s.. What does the brazed on bolt handle have to do with it? Did you know that the bolt nose is silver brazed also?

The canard that those in govt. use this or that does not fly. They have no choice and use what's issued!

Yes I knew that long ago. You can see the line a ways back from the lugs.

The 40X's I used are only for slow fire with a deliberate bolt closing.

The brazed bolt handle used by nearly all manufacturers except Borden, Nesika and Surgeon is a safety feature to prevent yahoos from attempting to fire a second over-pressured round.

Thanks, I think I will go with it.

Seems the guys got off on another tangent with my question, but it was interesting and I learned from them.

I appreciate you help. Bill

You wrote: The brazed bolt handle used by nearly all manufacturers except Borden..

How about Ruger, Kimber, Mauser, pre-64 M70? :)
