Up for sale is a like new 40X in .222. It has been sitting in the safe for at least a year and it’s time to move it along.
PT&G 40X action, screwed blued and tattooed
Brux 24” 12 twist 1.25 at the tennon and .887” at the muzzle ( straight taper ) Done up by Mike Bryant of Bryant customs with a sammi chamber. Approximately 85 rounds shot through this barrel.
Trigger- it will come with a shillen trigger instead of the jewel trigger thats pictured. I bought the Shilen triger and promptly sent it to Shilen to have it checked out and set at either 1.5 or 2lbs. Cant remember off hand. I pretty sure it hasn't been used since I’ve had it.
Will include roughly 550 50gn. V-Max’s, 250 pieces of Starline brass of which 50 +/- a few are once fired. Also I have original 40X stock. Bedded, pillered for a repeater action and ground off the single shot adapter so the 40X action would work, also the recoil pad could use some fitting. Has a freeland rail. I had a brain fart when I installed the thread adapter at the tip of the stock for a bi-pod rail but hey, who’s perfect.
Also two die sets, one RCBS two die set and a Redding bushing F/L die with a .244” bushing.
I only used thrown H-335 for load development. It started to show promise at 23.8 gns and book COAL and 50gn. V-Max’s. I built this rifle for the PD fields but have since fell in love with my 20P AR so I don't see myself using it anytime soon. Price for everything is 1400.00. Will only ship FFL to FFL so I’ll pay for my end and half the shipping and/or insurance. I’ll pack it well in a plano gun case
At this time I don't want to split this stuff up so please don't ask. The only trades I would consider would be an A-5 style stock or whiskey three chassis for a remington S/A with removable bottom metal and cash.
