.408 chey tac powders

has anyone out there used WC 867 in a .408 chey tac? wideners has 8LB jugs for $46. kind of curious. their website said it would be appropriate for use in a .50 BMG which would make it applicable in .408 chey tac. thanks

You could use it but might lack velocity. You should try Retumbo or N-570. Thats what I shoot in my Cheytac and my friends that have the 408. The 375 Cheytac uses slighly slower powder than the 408.

I had the best luck with r25 and r33. My rifle is a 110lb bench rest hevy gun with a 32 inch 1.450 barrel

what bullets do you use in your .408? tell me about your set-up. thanks

I run the original Cheytac bullets made by Jamison. Originally Lost River design. Vestal`s Gunsmithing built it on Lawton action & barrel. Mcree Chassis, Jewell trigger, Premier 5-25/H37 reticle, custom fishgill muzzlebrake.

very nice. I am waiting on my smith to get caught up on some stuff--then I can send my receiver/barrel/muzzle brake/reamer off to get it chambered. can't wait. I too have a mcrees stock for mine. this is my second mcrees--the other one is on my f-open rifle. absolutely love scott mcree's stocks. left this one in raw aluminum instead of anodized.
