40 to 45 grain bullets in 221 fireball

What favorite brands of .224 bullets are everyone using in their 221 Fireball loads.
Also interested in thoughts as to boattails vs. flatbase bullets.

My two 221FB's (Cooper M38 & CZ 527) only get fed a diet of Nosler 40gr BT's and Varmageddon's. My primary targets are rock chucks and ground squirrels, and these two bullets perform perfectly in regard to terminal effects, and the accuracy is probably better than I can shoot.





Living in the shadow of the Nosler plant, and with the proven performance over the years shooting these bullets, I'm not inclined to change anything. "If it ain't broke......."

That is a nice group. Good looking setup also.

I shoot RL7 and 50 grain Hornady VMax in my 20'' inch model 7. Shoots 1/2 inch very consistenly which is a PD killer out to 300+ yards. With my 35 degree shoulder version of the Fireball that's 3200fps and change! Incidentally I make my own brass from virgin 09 Lake City brass.
