4 State 2 Man Team

What a lineup, it looks like it is going to be a phenomenal shoot. Envious of everyone who's going to be there.

Extra points should be awarded for a lot of those team names, hilarious. I personally identify with "Frequent Fliers", and "What The Hell!" but I think my favorite is "The Legend And The Legacy". If I ever shoot a team match with one of my kids there's a good chance I'm shamelessly going to plagiarize that one :)

Good luck to all!

Yes, "The Legend and The Legacy" is a great name. Madelyn (Mark's 11 year old daughter) and her Mom came up is the team name. The funniest thing was Mark coming home and finding sweat shirts with the team name for them to wear. I CAN'T wait to see them... ( I hope there PINK )

Yes...a wonderful match! The camaraderie was the best I have experienced. I had the pleasure of working with Cole and shooting with him as he shot his first clean. He was so excited he jumped up and pulled his rifle off the line. I lay there laughing and motioned him to put the rifle back and told him he had some wind calls to make as I was up next for my string.:D It must have been the longest two strings of his life waiting for dad to get out of the pits to tell him about it...and the fact that dad and Barry each dropped a point while we both cleaned it:oops:.

Congrats to Shawn and Barry in F-open for a dominating win and to all the other winners and placers! I'll be back next year. I hope my partner does not become a free agent and is picked up by dad...but I suspect Barry and dad will want to defend their win.

Congratulations to all the winners, definitely a tough field of shooters.

Also I think it is great that Skip and his team came up with a new format that encouraged teamwork and a little bit of rivalry. I heard that the shooters all really liked the format and I think ingenuity like this will only help grow our sport.

Thanks to Skip and all of the Carthage team for hosting this match. It was so much fun..! I’m looking forward to the next one...

Speaking for the members of Panola County Gun Club, we thank all of you that attended these matches and those who weren't able to attend but still donated to this benefit match. We had shooters from Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Tennessee, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Florida. Perhaps we will call it the Eight State Two-Man Team Championship next year. We also had donations from New Mexico.

Congratulations to all the winners. Buddy Reich and Justin Utley in the sling category shot well all weekend. Jason Peel and Otis Riffey in FTR worked hard and it paid off, winning by one point over second place. In F-Open, Barry Holcomb and Shawn Broussard were, more often than not, the last shooters off the line, they worked real hard to make every shot count. I was really impressed with all the junior shooters who participated in this match, we have some real talent coming our way and they are coming on strong.

We also appreciate those who were behind the scenes helping to make this an outstanding match. Again, thanks all. Let's do it again next year.
