I live in new york state, how unfortunate !
Maybe this was asked but here goes,do you still need stock tape with this newer material?
That is a good question and I do not know if it makes a difference but I still have the teflon tape on my 3 inch wide front stock from before I started using the 3M front bag and it does not seem to cause any problems and the stock on the bag seems plenty slick to me. If it ever comes off or is removed I probably will not replace it. I have not used the teflon tape on the rear of the stock.jonbearman said:Maybe this was asked but here goes,do you still need stock tape with this newer material?
Very nice Butch.butchlambert said:I have used the 3M cloth for many years. Frank Wilson got a lot of it with adhesive on the back. It was a multitude of oval shaped pieces. They were designed as reflectors on tennis shoes. A few years later I called 3M. I could not even think about their minimum order. The lady was gracious and gave me a pretty nice roll of the material gratis.
Have to go and help load my Monarch 10EE lathe and bring it home.

The leather takes a set and forms creases that guide the stock it will come back in the box every time man made material will not do that. I use armor all and Sinclair bag wax and it slicker than snot on a door knob……… jimJay Christopherson said:johara1 said:Alex, I used it for last year on the front bag and use just leather in the rear bag……. i did ok……. but nothing tracks as good as leather…. jim
Jim, I've never used straight leather, but now you've got me curious. What makes it track better? Does it need to "break in" at all or does it work well right out the gate?
