3k with 208amax 300 wsm

Well for anyone intrested in running a 300 wsm throated for 208s I finnally ( safely) hit the 3000fps mark with great accuracy. I ended up with 64.5 gr of Rl17, rem 9 1/2s, win brass. Es and sd were single digits as well.

Right now im on my 4th loading and primers are still tight. My col is 3.230 which really opened up case capacity, plus a 30" barrel. I hit a node right at 2850, which I will prob go back to.

R17 is one of the best powders for the 300WSM but I can't find it in stock. Who is your supplier?

Phil, Ive sold that barrel but I actually settled on h4350 and 180gr. At 300yds 5 rounds touched so i left it there.

Been running 3000 + fps with the 210's and 215 bergers with RL17 for a while now. After about 3 firings the brass is loose. But damn it shoots!

Sure Matt tell everyone I was going to tell Mr. HotRod If I told him I would have to kill him after! HaHa I alway thought 7828 was good but when I seen they made short cut then super short cut I had to give it a try. Its been sitting on my shelf all summer and never tried it. Boy can I kick myself. I bet it will also work in the Baer. It will definitely will be worth a try also maybe with the 240 's. Never figured 300 WSM would shoot a big bullet that fast. And all this time I been shooting the 210 VLD's at 2860fps.

Hows the ES/SD and what kinda groups is that load putting out sir?

SIR: Man I must be getting old now they call me SIR: I can't give you everything you are going to have to do a little work yourself. It was a little over 3000 fps the ES. for ten shots was 13. Now that was just throwing this together so I could shoot our Banquet shoot, and Matt will tell you I had the worst relay the wind was from 15-20 mph and I still shot a 93 score. But what impressed me most were the 6 in the ten ring with about 2-1/2" of vertical. The one in the 9 was right even with the 6 then it went 3 in the 8 ring. Now this was out of my light gun with a 28" barrel. I have two new H.G. barrel to put on this winter One is 33" the other is 36"so I'm thinking this may really work in them. So start at 63 grains and go up. Let me know what you think, I can't do anything till spring little cold here.
