3D Printing in the Gun Room

Someguy, from another site was good enough to print me a 3D Case Feeder, for my progressive press. He made some of his own improvements to previous designs, and it feeds 100% !
It has never had a single hiccup. It is way better than the mfg option, at a fraction of the cost.
Thanks Perry

I got a 3D printer for Christmas, and have done a few gun related items. Here is a pic of a load block for my 6BR, a power throw handle for a Leupold scope, and a 3" rider block for the fore end so it fits a 3" benchrest style front rest.

Very nice, did you design the rider block or is that something downloadable from the web ? Thanks

That Hornady case comparitor case is simply a work of art. I'm in line for one when you decide to market it.

Although I've only been 3d printing for a couple of years, I now would be lost without it. I've printed loads of shooting stuff, all my own designs. Here's a few.
Clamp on camera bracket.

Labradar sight (attaches with a magnet)

Single shot adapter for CZ .22lr rifles.

Adjustable shooting specs

Magnetic gun rack.

Box inserts for Cap&Ball

45-70 loading tray.

Some printed racks or stands for guns while in the loading room. Screw to the edge of bench style, and other, sit on top of bench. Nothing fancy or complex..... just a convenience thing when rigs have to spend time on the loading bench.

I have 18 years Autocad with reasonable 3d capability. Also some Inventor 3d and Studio Max kind of stuff.
When modeling with these programs what are the typical file types generated. Are any using .dxf or .dwg or .stp files?

I have used several 3D programs to make parts on my 3D printer. They have some native program that they use to store their own drawing, then you use a "mesh" program to convert it to a *.stl file. You then put the *.stl file in a Slicer program, which outputs a *.gcode file, which is used by the printer.
