375 CT twist w/ 400 gr Lazers

I ordered an 8 twist 375 CT barrel to shoot the Cutting Edge 400 Lazers. After a 9 month wait, I received a 9 twist... I’m wanting to compete in the ELR game and want to know if anyone has had luck with this bullet, in a 9 twist, going transonic for ELR. I’ve already missed one match waiting on my barrels. If it’s feasible, I’d like to keep this one if it will work.

Thanks

9t will give you more speed then 8t. Should be fine. Imo fast twist barrels are abit overrated.

Are going to be shooting at thunder valley
Faster twist barrels are supposed to help the transition to subsonic. My current barrel is a 1-10 and I’ve had no problems with bullets that are advertised to stabilize in it. I believe the 400 layers are advertised to stabilize in your barrel. If you’re concerned with the lasers, give the 400gr badlands bullets a shot. They’re supposed to be o be stable in your barrel also.

Why did it take 9 months to get that barrel?!

Cutting edge recommends a 1" faster twist than shown in their technical data when shooting transonic. For the 400 gr Lazers the 1:9" recommendation becomes 1:8". I have a 1:8" Rock Creek barrel (but I haven't measured the twist). It has shot well at times. I would consider asking CE how strong their recommendation is, or get some 375 gr Lazers to try side by side.

I have asked and they recommend an 8 twist. That's why I was inquiring if anyone had any real world experience... The barrel is still unfired at this point.

Answer to the 9 month question... I really don't have an answer for that. They were ordered in the middle of Sept with an estimate delivery time of 11-14 weeks. His correspondence stated the completed barrels were ready to ship at the end of December. Then the middle of January. Then the end of January. Then he didn't get the chance to ship them before he went away for the weekend. One excuse after another...

I speculate that he chambered the barrel before measuring the twist and said OH F***!!! He had put me off so long, he didn't know how to deal with the screw up. I ordered two barrels and they're both lighter than they should be as well.

If anyone wants to know the Smith, I can PM you. Definitely not recommended though...

I've read most of the replies and would agree that 1/8 twist for transonic would work just fine. There's not much difference in speed between a 9/8 or 7 twist. The Twist rate doesn't necessarily retard velocity. Someone stated something about a badlands bullet? Not a good choice for the CheyTac stick with cutting-edge 377 M Tacs or 400 grain laser.
