36x fixed power for F-class mid-range

Can a person be competitive at F-class mid-range (600yds) with a 36x scope?

Sure. if thats all you have dont let it stop you from going. I wouldnt buy that scope intentionally if your shopping though.

Thanks. I'm actually considering selling a Leupold 36X. I know some guys thinking about starting up in this sport with a limited budget. Wouldn't want to misguide them.

I spend all of my time at midrange around 35-40x range, I wouldn't have a problem with 36... unless the mirage is bad.

It definitely can be competitive. Someday you'll probably want a bit more, but yes it will work fine.
