35mm to 30mm conversion

hitting up the brain trust for ideas on how to convert my excellent 35mm scope rings (Vortex Precision matched set) to use with a 30mm tube scope. have not found any products specific to this. any ideas?

of course, a good option and i will do so if necessary. just thought if there was a way to convert them, it would be nice to put them to use

Granted that was a little snippy of a response. I've never heard or read of any way to reduce 34s or 35s.

Sell your Vortex 35's and get another set of 30s. If you watch here you can pick up quality rings at a discount from time to time.

Simple. Find a plastic bottle a couple mm thick and cut some shims.

that is a good idea, but the more i thought about it, i think buying a new set of Vortex 30mm rings makes a lot more sense. trying to go on the cheap, that's the pilot in me coming out. :p:D

I used to mount scopes for a gunshop. Most often used copper shims back in the 60's and 70's. Then tried plastic. As long as no plastic is exposed to the sun or the elements, cut it to fit under the rings, there never was degradation. Bet you there are still some using things I shimmed back then.

thanks!
