357 Sig Decaping Problems... Again!

Looks like wicking 29x series loctite to me. Try soaking in nitromethane/methanol fuel from an R/C hobby shop. Nitromethane will soften loctite right up.

I actually have some of that stuff Grocmax since I fly RC Jets & planes. I'll give it a try! Thanks for the idea.

Just to let you know that the RC fuel worked! Here's a pic showing one with the green stuff and one after soaking in nitro.

We do quite a bit of bonding of metal parts with high strength high temp loctite, besides the official solvent from loctite ($$$$), nitro works real well, haven't found anything else that will touch it. The nitro will wick into the bonded joint and soften it up pretty quickly.

FYI, I just got in some of the Remington Gold Saber Bonded ammo and sure enough, they have the green sealant on the primers. Now why they(Remington) will not tell me is a question. But at least I know that's how they come new from the factory. I was just at the range today and when I came home they were here so I'll shoot a few of them on Monday and decap them and see if I have the same problem with the tops coming off or the corrosion I seen inside. I'll let you all know the outcome.

For the price of 357 sig brass just save your head aches and throw them out to the brass fairy that have the sealant on them..I have seen 357 sig brass for about 5 cent apiece .Also found to run them in a 40 cal die helps..good luck

These I got for .04 a piece but most of the time they are different head stamps. The last time I ordered some they were Speer cases and I had no problems.

Most likely I will not be buying any more since I have about 2500 cases now so they should last longer than I do. :-\

Over the years the only brass I have had continuous problems with has been Remington! I no longer use/buy it for anything!

Very few problems with Winchester.

Several years ago I switched to "Starline" brass in all my Pistols/Revolvers and haven't had any problems whatsoever, not even one problem!
Very strong. I use it in my 44 Mag and 45 Colt with 260 to 300 + gr bullets with max loads of Winchester 296 and it performs great!

Give it a try and I doubt you will ever switch again, very reasonably priced, and NO I am not affiliated with them in any way.

Back from the range today and I shot 5 rounds of the new Remington Saber Bonded ammo and brought back the cases for inspection.
Here are the pics showing everything. My suspicion is that the brass I bought had either been sitting out on the range in wet conditions or that when they cleaned them they sat for awhile wet IMO.

Unfired new ammo

New ammo with hit brass

Pockets after decapping. See how clean they are?

Primers from the 5 new rounds...Nice

And finally the ammo that I believe is the same cases I bought once fired.
