I had no idea that there was such a thing as a "Straight Wall Cartridge State". -- Or a 350 Legend for that matter.jd
Unfortunately yet, lots of midwest states have a straight wall restriction for deer season. It sucks when you have to shoot a 357 Maximum, instead of the whole pile of normal cartridges
If I were in that situation that would be the round I would shoot an buy factory ammo very accurate round.444 marlin?
They limit the cartridge case length. These are all areas that used to be "shotgun" only. I believe the length is 1.80.444 marlin?
444 marlin?
Some states have a 1.8" case length limit. Bummer.444 marlin?
Some states have regions that only allow a shotgun/slugs for deer hunting due to the populations or automibile/school bus activity and do not allow high power rifles in those areas. They've adopted the straight wall cartridge as the alternative to a shotgun or pistol. Many have picked up the 450 Bushmaster in a bolt action and now the newest 350 Legend. A .223 case with basically a .36 caliber projectile. Kicks about like a .223 with heavy bullets. Not real impressive beyond 200 yards but that's kinda why it was developed for suburban deer huntingI had no idea that there was such a thing as a "Straight Wall Cartridge State". -- Or a 350 Legend for that matter.jd
Yes.Out of curiosity, how do you headspace a straight wall rimless case? Off the case mouth?
Haven't heard of any. Fed from 223 mags, they feed well. Just like the 450 BM and 45 Raptor feed from 308 mags. Just a slight feed lip adjustment on the mags if even thatI can't help but wonder what feed issues may or may not be encountered with Rem 700. There may be no issues at all, or there might be 2hrs worth.
