35 rem T/C Contender

I just picked up a 35 rem T/C Contender. I have some old load data. I am wanting to shoot 158 gr to 200 gr bullets. What load are you shooting?

Good luck, Check out Mike Bellm's website and information on the .35 Rem. In a break action. Now in my Remington 141 I use the Hornady 200 gr. Flex tip and have shot some amazing 3 rd. 100 yard groups. Actually varmint type accuracy with the best at 7/16" CTC!
Sorry for rambling, H335 and a match primer.

Take a look at this link

Should help with bullet choice

JMHO go with the 180 SSPB Hornady

I use it in my 356 Win and it is a hammer

Mark-

Howdy !

While the following .35 Rem loads I developed for use in my M336XLR, they are reduced loads which your data may indicate are safe for use in your Contender.

I BR-prep my .35 Rem brass. Necks receive super-light skim outside neck turn, to remove " orange peel " & uniform neck wall thickness.
I shoot single shot mode, and don't use a crimp. For NS, I use a LEE Collet NS die, with the center mandrel turned- down -.002" under factory spec. All other customary BR case preps apply, although I don't weight-sort my brass. I DO wt sort the .358"cal, bullets after finding 4gr variance over 37ea 150PSP's weighed. They were already shooting superbly, and I hope to try-out the weight-sorted loads
@ the range; soon..... things can only get better !

I had to send my .35 calibre bullet seater die sleeve back to Hornady for some detail machining....
Case mouth's bottomed-out inside the top of the sleeve, and consistent cartridge seating depths could not be maintained; as one result.
I asked Ben @ Hornady to give me the full .35 Rem neck length, + .002" additional clearance; as assurance.

For low-low noise/recoil:
Rem 150PSP 14.5gr " Trailboss " over Rem 9 1/2 Mag in Rem brass. I put a thin disc of tissue paper over the powder, then add some PUFFLON filler to the base of where the bullet will be seated. Since I'm shooting these single-shot, I use no crimp.

Super Accurate @ 100 :
Rem 150PSP 18.6gr IMR 4759 over CCI LR Mag. This time, a small wad of tissue paper about 1" long ( and an approx .430" wide ).
A LEE #69 dipper full of PUFFLON, and seated bullet mildly compresses the load. No crimp.
