35 BR

Has anyone made up a 357 benchrest with the basic deminsions
as the Remington benchrest series of cartridges? Yes, I know it
is worthless as a benchrest round. I was thinking of it as a
versitle around-the-ranch round for close shots. I could shoot
everything from wadcutters to 158 grain XTR's. I already have
a 358 Winchester and don't want a 35 Remington. I have an idle
Rem 700 that was a 22-250 so I have an action with the right
magazine box, and I have a 357 barrel blank.

Never heard of it but don't see why not. you would probably have to buy your own reamer since it is an oddball setup and get loading dies made or modified to work.

I have heard of someone shooting a 45 acp in a BR gun,it's the same case head size

that surely possible to built something interesting, cast bullet shooter use small case heavy bullet

another positive point is that that 338 BR aka 338 Whisper show interesting accuracy

only problem is to get flat base / light bullet, pistol bullet are not really design and produce for top accuracy, but that allow to make velocity test.

good shooting

KKF in florida has had a reamer made by clymer for this caliber and I believe he has a prototype AR in this caliber. I was contemplating this myself for the same reasons you have listed.
