338 Lapua vs. 338 Federal?

Which would you go with and why? Can you reform 308 for one of them? I would like to hear anyone's input. Thank you.

338 federal is the same case as 308 the 338 lapua is a very large case about the same capacity as the 300 rem ultra mag. I guess which one you choose depends on what you plan on doing with it.______ treeman

I have a 338 Fed hunting rifle

with 225's it was the Biz for Camels and donkeys in Central Australia

Some of the bull camels went over 2000 kgs

May I suggest the 338 RUM? Brass is 1/3 the cost.

300 gr Sierra MatchKings will be your new friends as well.

338 RUM built on a Savage Target action. 32" Rock barrel, Straight Shot Gunsmithing muzzle brake, and, so far, 2950 fps with 300 gr SMK's. 3-3.5" groups at 700 yards.
