338 Lapua load/node question

I have a Savage 112 and found a good load at 96.7 g RL33, Sierra MK 300 g, lapua brass.
Do any of the 338 guys here know where the next lower node may show up.Any rule of thumb
for big 338s ? Maybe 3 or 4 grains down from this node?
Thanks HB

When I was testing RL33 my low node was 93 grs, shot amazing but slow, 3 shot group at 300 yds was .5", .16moa!

Don’t forget to try 250’s in the Savage. I had one that really preferred the lighter bullets. Berger and Scenar 250’s shot tighter and would probably be flatter to 1500yards or so. I never could get the velocity/accuracy from the 300’s that my custom rifles would do, maybe due to a longer FB?

Thanks for the reply's. 96.7 is just before I'm seeing hard bolt lift and seems to be a good shooting node.
I'll look for that post about 3% between nodes, thanks. I haven't tried lighter bullets much but may look
into them again. I was just wanting to zero in on the lower node faster without wasting time, powder and bullets.
Thinking that the lower node would be good for shooting shorter ranges <1200 yards and the higher node
lode for longer range. Maybe that lower node is just fine for the longer ranges (mile) I want to shoot.
Thanks HB
