3100 fps dasher is it possible?

Well that's the question, I shoot a dasher at the moment with a 28" barrel using viht n550 and 105g lapua bullets I run at about 3000fps.

I shoot long range f-class out to 1100 yds but want to take my next dasher out to 1200yds, I need to launch the bullet at 3100fps to stay just supersonic at the target.
The new rifle will have a 31" bartlien barrel .237 5r 8.3-8 twist. Quickload says very touch and go.

What do you guys think?

Essexboy, I can hit 3100 fps in my 30 inch barreled 6 Dasher with 105's but accuracy was not quite there.. I am running mine at 3,030 fps with outstanding accuracy and looking at Donovans chart you don't need to push them that fast to get out to 1200 yards. Especially if you have found the node for Dasher's that exists between 3000 and 3050 fps.

I have two dashers. Both are 28''. The Krieger runs 3030 fps. The Broughton runs 3150 fps. With 33 of varget and 34 of rl15 respectivly. Both shooting the 105 hybrid.

Which barrel is giving you the best accuracy? What primers are you using?

The krieger until I ran out of a good lot of varget. Now I would give the edge to the broughton, and since I put the tuner on it its as accurate as the krieger ever was. Both are consistantly in the 2's with often 1's. Thats moa, as I shoot long range. Using cci 450's, but the wolf srm group the same. I had some ignition problems and no longer use them.

I have two Bartlien's 31" barrels, and I am usually around 3050-fps, but they will go +3100 no problem.
Just ran a 105 Scenar (.530-G1BC) at 3000-fps across my ballistic software and this what it computed:

Happy Shooting

I have been using a g7 ballistic calculator and the lapua stated bc for this bullet (.236) I believe this works out some where in the region of .470 g1. If you would be as kind to re input the modified data and see what you come up with.

i would switch to the berger hybrids if you can. and maybe tip them to give a little bc advantage. that should help you with the speed way out there
