30X47 lapua load data help

Guys i cant find much out there and certainly not much in the last 5 years. can anyone give me an idea of where to start with this? I have a 30x47 with a 1/10 twist barrel but i will likely shoot bullets on the lighter side like 125gn nosler ballistic tips. Is there something out there with very similar case capacity where there may be a bit more ligature and where load data should be reasonably interchangeable with the standard drop down in starting loads to be certain and to check for pressure? thanks in advance for your help.
best,
Don

I just went thru the 30X47 thing. It can be a little tough to get info, and the correct dies, but there is help. Here are some things that will get you started. I did a ladder test, followed by a seating depth analysis for group size using 125 gr. Hornady SST bullets. This for a deer hunting load in my brothers 30X47. My desired node left me using 42 gr. of H4895. I was using Rem. BR brass and Rem. 7 1/2 primers. MV was 2930. This load did not show any pressure signs in the rifle that it was fired in. You definitely want to start lower and work up. Not that your rifle will be the same, The bullets are seated .010" away from the lands as determined by a Hornady OAL gauge. Seating into the lands for this particular load was not tried as we were creating a hunting load. I had some Barnes 110 grain bullets, but did not get time to work a load up with them. My brother shot 3 bucks and 3 does with this combo. I'm here to tell you that the wound channels were more than adequate. There is a gent on here that goes by Alf who is very knowledgeable with the 30X47. Hopefully he will jump in here and get you some more info. My brother intends to do some comp shooting with this rifle, so we will be working up some different loads later on. My thoughts are 115 gr. bullets and either H4895 or N133. I will try to PM you some info that I gleaned over on Benchrest Central. I've been seeing on here that they are having site issues, so I may not be able to access it. Good shooting!

I'm running 42.6 gr VV135 with 118gr BIB, Lapua brass in a hunter gun. Stiller action, Pacnor barrel. All the usual warnings about working up apply.

I am not sure what the 30X47 Lupua is but I have a 30X47 that is the 300 Savage case that has the shoulder pushed back 10 thousands inch but left the over all length of the 300 Savage case making a longer neck shorter powder capacity case. My standard loads that I have come up with is with IMR4895 powder. I use 42 grs IMR 4895 with either 125 gr Nolser ballistic tips 2850 fps or 150 Seirra pro hunter or 155 Berger VLD average 2650 fps. Cases are made from either Winchester 300 Savage or Federal 308 Match. I use CCI BR2 primers. I can not get more than 42 grs IMR 4895 in a case and seat a bullet and it shows no pressure signs with any of the bullets and all loads shoot bug holes. I picked up this rifle from a estate sale of an old bench rest shooter that shot in the early 1980s. He had just had this rifle built and started doing some work shooting CAST BULLETS for hunter bench rest matches according to his records when he got sick and died. His wife held on to all his stuff until 2000. Because this was a wildcat caliber and was built on a Ruger 77 and has a factory Ruger wood stock(glassed) with an unknown maker 24" chrome molly varmint barrel that nobody wanted I got it and the loading dies for a song. It has a Canjar (SP?) trigger and I have not found any load that would not shoot under 1/2 MOA. I have settled on using the 125 Ballistic tip as my deer bullet. That thing just plain kills deer DRT. I use it in ALL my 30 cal. stuff from my 30-30AI Contender pistol to my 308 Win. Just keep the impact velocity under 3000 fps and it is perfect for deer out to a little over 300 yards so far.

Thanks guys much appreciated any additional info appreciated as I am sure I am not the only one that has had difficulty finding info on this guy and it would be cool to have a thread with good info for the search function.
