Had some spare time last week so I loaded up some plinking ammo. I use the Nolser 165 gr Ballistic tip for deer hunting Loaded Nolser blem 155 gr HP custom competition bullets. Parent case is 444 Marlin necked down to 30 caliber

That’s a cool looking cartridge!… what kinda velocity and how well does it group for ya?
Nice looking rig. Oh and what’s the wildcat called?

It’s a 309 JDJ It shoots great and is a hand full velocity is little over 2300 fps from 14 in barrel
309 JDJ is on the right. 257 JDJ is on the left

Thanks for the reply. Thats some fine shooting my friend. Very cool looking cartridges. I see we run the same chronograph and do our targets the same way. Hope to see more comments on this thread to generate more content. I’m really interested in having a barrel chambered up for my Encore in that .257

The 257 JDJ is an awesome cartridge too. I have a 14 inch Contender and 17 inch
Encore. 100 gr BT 2737 fps
Contender 100 gr BT 2574 fps
Contender 75 gr Hor HP 3006 fps!!!

I use the same bullet and powder combo in mine.(IMR 4350)
The 150 NBT is also very good

JD Jones is my good friend. I have many of his JDJs. My 6.5 & .309 are the best 2. I've taken over 200 deer with each of them out to 400 yards. As above 150s & 165s are the best. Avoid X bullets- pressure problems.
